Pre-K and Kindergarten Math Readiness Workbook Series
This is a series of Afro-centric abacus-based math skill building designed around the patent pending jr.counter- a simplified and progressive abacus. The jr.counter was designed by Ameerah Bello, mother of twin girls who wanted her children to develop the same strong early math skill sets witnessed in other countries.
Introduces and reinforces the basics of using a simplified abacus, the jr.counter- with positioning focuses on numbers 0-4. In this level, children are guided through counting up, counting down, mental practice and working with equivalent numbers using numbers, empowering Adinkra symbols, numbers and the jr.counter. All laying the foundation to mastering number bonds covered in Level 2.
Continues building onjr.counter skills with a focus on numbers 0-9, with positioning, ordering, mental practice, friends that make up 5 and 10, number bonds which all lay a strong foundation to mastering addition and subtraction in Level 3.
Builds on levels 1 and 2, where children are fully immersedwithjr.counter counting and positioning and begin building on mental addition and subtraction with multi-step calculations. Children are motivated and empowered with fun drills and tests.
